4th of July Weekend Spectacular!!!
Festivities planned all weekend long!
In honor of Independence Day, Big Bear Shores is holding its annual Parade, BBQ on the Deck, Chili Cook-off Contest and Ice Cream Bar! On Sunday morning, several homeowners have organized a “Breakfast Brunch” in the clubhouse. Here's a run-down of the weekend festivities:
Saturday, July 4th ~
9am – Golf Cart/Bike Decorating for parade at launch ramp
10am - Parade throughout Entire Park
11-1pm – BBQ @ Clubhouse Deck – Hosted by the Sales Office
1-4pm - Chili Cook-Off/Lot Decorating Contest @ Entire Park
7pm – - Awards Ceremony/Ice Cream Social @ Clubhouse Deck
9pm - Fireworks Spectacular @ Lakeside
Sunday, July 5th ~
9-11am – Join us for Breakfast Brunch @ Clubhouse
It's not too late to join in the fun! Chili cookers still have time to sign up by e-mailing Jamie Hillwig at Jamie@hillwig-goodrow.com or Dee Grable at pipecam@cybertime.net All "tasters" are required to wear a wristband to participate. Jamie (Lot 156) and Dee (Lot 111) will be collecting pre-registrations the weekends of June 20th and 21st and June 27th and 28th. You may e-mail your intent to participate as a taster to either of the above e-mails. The price of participation will be $10.00 per adult (10 and above). If your younger children are going to actively participate we ask for a $5.00 donation.
Awards will be handed out in the following categories:
Chili Cook-off ~
* Hottest Chili
* Best Over-All Chili
* Hottest Salsa
* Best Over-All Salsa
* Best Alcoholic Shooter
* Best Non-Alcoholic Shooter
Lot Decorating ~
* Most Patriotic
* "Beariest" (Best Use of Bears)
* Most Original
* Best Over-All
Ballots must be turned into the ballot box on Lot 156 by 5pm the same day as the contest. Join us at the Awards Ceremony on Saturday,
July 4th, at 6:30pm on the Clubhouse Deck. Hope to see you there!
Proceeds from the event will be put towards the bear carvings at the main entryway into the Resort.

HOA Meeting, Margarita Mixer Sat May 23rd

Memorial Weekend is around the corner and the weather is fabulous! Hope everyone gets a chance to come up to the Big Bear Shores HOA meeting in the clubhouse on Saturday morning. Late afternoon there'll be the annual Margarita Mixer on the deck with plenty of margaritas, music, and chips and salsa. If the weather cools off - we'll take it inside. Hope to see you there!
Ms Stella Jay is in!

The jays are back in residence over the door lintel of the sales office. The jay's nest has been rebuilt at that same site for the last several years - and this year there are six chicks! That's a lot of mouths to feed! So take a look when you're in the park! But don't disturb them! Mom and Dad have a lot of work to do!
The 'bird' cam on the website has a two hour time capture feature. The birds will be gone by the 1st of June so don't wait too long!
NASCAR PARTY CANCELED

Due to predicted snowstorm/rain weather activity this weekend and through the beginning of next week - the NASCAR party in the Clubhouse has been canceled. Hwy 18 has also had several avalanches in the last few days causing road closures in the Arctic Circle area. Please use
caution if you're coming up the mountain and carry chains.

NASCAR PARTY

NASCAR Season is about to begin. There will be a Daytona Party in the clubhouse on February 15, 2009. Pre-race activities start at 11:00 a.m. The race is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. Please bring your own drinks and appetizers to share.
